The straight truth · بصراحة

A gift of pride

هدية فخر

The Beirut Club is a private American company, founded in Texas, and not a charity. Your $20 buys exactly what is promised — your numbered certificate and your membership of the Club — and it stands behind the Club as it brings the horse home and trains him toward his inaugural race.

When he wins · عند الفوز

Every time he wins, we eat

كل ما يفوز، منعزم كل الناس

Every victory means a festival, thrown at the farm. It is a bonus, never the thing you are buying — if he never wins, your certificate and your membership are still yours.

Beirut wins.

A festival is thrown.

The stable · الإسطبل

The people around him

The Owner & Trainer

Owner and trainer. When the horse comes home, he will own Beirut in his own name, licensed with the racing commission, and he will train him himself.

Tarzan

Groom. He lives beside the horse, in a trailer at the farm, and looks after him every day of the year.

The jockey

To be announced. A good one, properly paid — and he comes to every party.

Beirut

Coming soon. A Thoroughbred racehorse will be bought unnamed, so that the name can be his. A name cannot be reused while the horse who carries it is alive: there will only ever be one Beirut.

Beirut will be stabled at Kingfish Farms. The farm will board and care for him — it will not own him and is not a party to the membership.

The dream · الحلم

If he wins it, every Lebanese wins it

إذا فاز، يفوز كل لبناني في العالم

Beirut will soon be in training — a Lebanese racehorse for the Lebanese people. Support us, and stand behind him race after race, in the hope of one day winning the Kentucky Derby and putting Lebanon in front of the whole world.

Questions · أسئلة

Straight answers

When will the horse be chosen?
Soon. A Thoroughbred racehorse will be bought unnamed, so the name Beirut can be his, and he will go straight into training. Your membership begins the moment you join — the certificate is issued right away.
What am I actually paying for?
Membership of The Beirut Club for the year. That means a numbered certificate with your name on it, an invitation to the festival thrown for every victory, and a share in the pride of it — a racehorse by Lebanese, for Lebanese, running in front of the world.
Do I own part of the horse?
No. Beirut will be owned personally by his owner of record, licensed with the racing commission. Membership gives no ownership, no share and no part of any purse or prize money. Racing law requires that the true owner be the person named on the papers, and he is.
I live outside the United States. Can I still be part of the Club?
Yes — the Club is worldwide, and that is the whole point: one horse for the Lebanese of Beirut, Montréal, São Paulo, Sydney and every city in between. The Club itself is an American company, and the horse will be stabled, trained, and raced in the United States — membership is open to anyone, anywhere. Join from wherever you are, and your certificate is yours the same day.
Why "Beirut"?
Because wherever a Lebanese lives in the world, Beirut is the word for home — بيروت قلب لبنان — واليوم تركض. The heart of Lebanon, and today it runs. And a Thoroughbred name cannot be reused while its horse is alive, so there will only ever be one.
